Two days can give you a rewarding introduction to Luxor when you keep the plan focused. Treat this outline as a starting point and adjust it to your arrival time, interests and travel companions.
Day one: get to know the East Bank
Begin with one of the East Bank's major temple visits: Luxor Temple or the Karnak complex. Give yourself time to look closely rather than trying to complete both on a fixed timetable. After a meal, decide whether another visit or a gentle look around the city suits your energy.
The East Bank is also a useful place to find your bearings. Note where you are staying, how you will return, and the meeting point for any arranged transport. Keep your first evening simple so the next day does not begin with an overfull schedule.
Day two: choose a West Bank focus
Across the Nile, the Valley of the Kings and the wider Theban landscape offer a different perspective on ancient Luxor. Select the places that interest you, then organise the journey around that selection. Allow for travel, entry arrangements and time on site rather than assuming everything will fit into one morning.
Keep a margin in the plan
Confirm current access, tickets, timings and transport before travelling. Leave space for breaks and avoid adding a paid activity simply to fill a gap. Back at Nefertiti, a meal at the rooftop restaurant or time to recharge can be part of the experience, rather than an afterthought.
Have more time? Spread the same ideas over a longer stay and enjoy a less hurried rhythm.
